Authentic San Francisco welcome by the Chinese Lion Dancers!

Speaker: Pamela Cox Otto will strategize with us about how our staffs and faculty cross multi generations of technology natives, users, and late, late adopters! How do we work effectively to get our message out while competing with viral videos and the new world of instant communications! Pamela will share her research and insight into this technology conundrum!

Reception at the Home of the San Francisco Giants -- AT&T Park

Wear your team colors and celebrate the ending of the baseball season! Bon Appetit welcomes us to AT&T Park with a very special opening reception. This promises to be one of NASPA’s memorable evenings! For an additional $15 you can bring a friend or family member.

Programs

Join us for quality professional development opportunities. Our colleagues have submitted 110 program proposals for 45 program spots. Each proposal was reviewed by at least five reviewers.

Friday afternoon, the conference committee is sponsoring a special session exploring social justice issues to encourage dialogue about conflicts on our campuses and for us as an organization. This program was invited specifically because of the committee’s commitment to examine how the recent hotels labor dispute is similar to many of the contract disputes we experience on our campuses. We have all experienced un-resolved contract issues, student protests and challenges. This panel will explore how we remain committed to our ideals and continue on the day to day work of our institutions.

Special Conference Program Opportunity

Dr. Abbie Leibowitz will be presenting Healthcare Trends and Strategies for Controlling Costs on Saturday morning before the closing speaker. For more information, click here: This session is sponsored by one of our corporate conference partners, The Point Group which is affiliated with Student Resources. They are our Cyber Café sponsor for the conference.

Hotel

The conference committee is pleased to announce that the multi-hotel labor dispute in San Francisco is officially over and resolved. We hope that you have already made your room reservations with the Crowne Plaza because our room block is officially sold out. However, do not despair! The committee has made additional lodging arrangements with Club Donatello (close to the Crowne Plaza and in Union Square area) and with the Fisherman’s Wharf Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn at Fisherman’s Wharf has recently been remodeled and has a fresh, new look which includes: lobby, guestrooms, business center, and pool deck.
